Our Commitment
|
We knew that finding the Oriflama, was only a matter of time. The historical investigation has been exhausting. We have access to prospecting equipments, of the latest technology. We have full faith and dedication to the completion of this project. We know that discovering the vessel remains was the easiest stage of the project. The most difficult work will come when its time to excavate. We believe that we are in a global discovery, and in the center of attention of the national and international academic communities. We are fully aware of our responsibility to future generations regarding the registry of the information, documentation and conservation of the vessel and its cargo. For these reasons, we promise that all the excavation and conservation processes will be done according to the highest international standards. We will form a disciplinary team, created with specialist for every field of the project. We will incorporate the latest advances that information technology will allow us to handle. For the large amount of data recovery in the excavation process, we will use proven and trustful conservative techniques. We think that the local communities will greatly benefit. For one part, it is being contemplated to create a museum in the local area of La Trinchera, as well as making donations of a collection to the Chilean Army Naval Museum. We hope that this project will benefit the sciences, arts and culture of Chile and humanity. |
